His writing savours of and revels in musical elements: rhythm, melodic contours, harmonies and discords, timbres and cadences of language. These are elements which can resonate within if the word is spoken rather than only read, be it solo in private, in professional recitals and performances, or by choral-speaking groups of one kind or another.
